DRI & Fe 98%
DRI - Direct Reduced Iron
-
The Iron Ore is exposed to reducing gasses at 1100 degrees Celsius for a period of 8hrs.
-
The Fe2O3 is reduced to Fe by means of reducing gases generated from Coal
-
The reduction process is as follows
3Fe2O3 + CO - 2Fe3O4 + CO2
Fe3O4 + CO - 3FeO + CO2
FeO + CO2 - Fe + CO2
-
The DRI or Sponge Iron is cost effective to produce and replaces Pig Iron in the secondary process of manufacturing steel in typical Electric Arc Furnaces.

Fe 98%
-
Some of the DRI produced are in the form of fines. These DRI Fines are not suitable for use in the EAF.
-
RoC Minerals developed a process where the DRI Fines are processed into High Concentration Fe Ingots that is the perfect metallurgic “Blank Canvas” for iron and steel producers.
-
Premium Fe Alloys can now be produced without the tramp elements captured in Scrap Metals.
-
Fe 98 can be tailor made into the exact alloy required by Steel Mills and Foundries.
-
Ingot shapes and sizes can be according to the requirement of the Mill or Foundry to ensure swift processing and melting.
